Andrea Botez is a Canadian- American Chess celebrity, YouTuber, content creator, and streamer for Twitch. Botez is also a rising celebrity in chess boxing. She is known for being a participant in a chess match in order to help raise funds for children who are combating the COVID- 19 pandemic. 

In a tweet recently in November, she had quoted that she is addicted to boxing (chessboxing).  She later participated in the chess boxing tournament titled, the Mogul Chess boxing Championship that took place at the Galen Center inside the campus of the University of Southern California (USC).

Her fight was against Dina Belenkaya, a Russian – Israeli chess player. Chess boxing is a hybrid sport that is a combination of the two disciplines of chess and boxing.

Andrea Botez – Age, Height, And Early Life

Andrea Cecilia Cristina Botez, 20 years old, was born on 6 April 2002. Botez was born in Vancouver, British Columbia to Romanian immigrant parents. Botez is 5 feet and 4 inches tall in height. 

 Her parents had moved to Canada from the Socialist Republic of Romania before she and her elder sister was born. Her elder sister was born in Dallas, Texas. She and her sister completed their schooling in Texas.

Andrea Botez is the younger sister of Alexandra Valerie Botez, who is the five-time Champion of the National Girls Chess Championship of Canada. She also became the champion of the U.S. Girls Nationals Chess Championship at the age of 15.

Alexandra is the title holder of the WFM, the Woman FIDE Master (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) by the International Chess Federation. The FIDE title is given to those who have achieved a rating of 2100 or above.

Andrea Botes was introduced to the world of Chess by her father, Andrei Botez.  Botez has a FIDE rating of 1709 as per the records available from September 2022. 

Andrea first played chess when she was six years old. She was influenced by her sister’s passion and background associated with the board game. Andrea got more drawn into the game when she accompanied her father and sister.

At that time her sister Alexandra Botez was already competing in the World Youth Chess Championship and other such major tournaments and championships.  One year later at the age of seven, Botex debuted in the US Chess Tournaments. 

Botez became the champion of the Canadian Youth Chess Championship for girls in the under-8 category in 2010. 

In 2015 Botez became the champion of the Women British Columbia Chess tournament. In addition to that, in 2015 itself, she was the winner of the Susan Polgar National Open Championship for Girls and Boys (SPFNO).

It is an annual chess championship sponsored by the foundation of Susan Polger. Polger is a chess grandmaster, the 1996 to 1999 champion of the Women’s World Chess, and the highest-ranked female chess player in the world at the age of 15. She bagged the title in 1984 based on the rating system of the Elo by FIDE.  

In the SPFNO (the Susan Polgar Foundation-sponsored National Open)  2016 of the year 2016, she came in forth position in the tournament in the category for under 14 girls. She also bagged a 13th position in the Susan Polgar Foundation Girls’ Invitational in the same year, 2016.

Andrea Botez touched her highest rating by the FIDE classical rating of 1773 in the year 2018. Her highest rating as per the US Chess rating of 1933, was attained by her in the year 2019. According to the latest statistics available she possesses the rank of 181318 in the world.

Andrea Botez has gained attention by also being a chess streamer. 

BotezLive, a Twitch channel, is run by her and her sister together. As per the recent review the channel has over 1.1 million followers and 18.3 million views. The channel was started by her sister Alexandra Botez in the year 2016 to stream content related to chess. 

Both of them are also famous for their collaboration with other chess streamers such as the Woman Grand Master Qiyu Zhou and Grand Master Hikaru Nakamura.

In December 2020, the sisters signed a contract with Envy Gaming, an esports, and gaming company. As per the contract, they were titled as content creators at the launch of the creator network by the organization and the ambassador program.
